Intellectual Property and Copyright Policy

1. ABOUT MYTHIC RIFT
1.1 Mythic Rift Ltd is an independent UK trading card retailer.
1.2 The Mythic Rift website is currently operating as a pre-launch preview while the Company completes distributor onboarding and arranges its opening stock.
1.3 Products displayed during the pre-launch period represent the ranges that Mythic Rift intends to stock and may not yet be available to purchase.
1.4 Product availability, prices, release dates and other information displayed during the pre-launch period may change before ordering opens.
1.5 This Policy applies to:
1.5.1 the Mythic Rift website;
1.5.2 Mythic Rift social media accounts;
1.5.3 advertising and promotional materials;
1.5.4 future organised-play activities and events; and
1.5.5 the planned physical Mythic Rift store in the Cambridgeshire area.
2. INDEPENDENT RETAILER STATUS
2.1 Mythic Rift is an independent retailer.
2.2 Mythic Rift is not affiliated with, sponsored by, endorsed by or officially connected with any trading card game publisher, manufacturer, studio, distributor, licensor or intellectual-property owner unless an official relationship is expressly stated.
2.3 The appearance of a brand name within a website tab, category, product listing or event description does not indicate:
2.3.1 sponsorship;
2.3.2 endorsement;
2.3.3 partnership;
2.3.4 official retailer status;
2.3.5 authorised distributor status; or
2.3.6 any other formal commercial relationship.
3. THIRD-PARTY INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
3.1 All third-party trading card game names, product names, trademarks, logos, characters, card designs, artwork, fictional settings, symbols and other franchise-specific material remain the property of their respective owners and licensors.
3.2 References to third-party brands may include:
3.2.1 Pokémon;
3.2.2 One Piece Card Game;
3.2.3 Magic: The Gathering;
3.2.4 Yu-Gi-Oh!;
3.2.5 Disney Lorcana;
3.2.6 Riftbound;
3.2.7 Gundam Card Game;
3.2.8 Dragon Ball Super Card Game;
3.2.9 Digimon Card Game;
3.2.10 Naruto Card Game;
3.2.11 Star Wars: Unlimited;
3.2.12 Flesh and Blood;
3.2.13 Union Arena;
3.2.14 Palworld Official Card Game; and
3.2.15 other trading card games that Mythic Rift may display or stock.
3.3 Third-party brand names are used only to identify, organise and describe genuine products associated with the relevant brands.
3.4 Mythic Rift does not claim ownership of any third-party name, trademark or intellectual-property right.
4. DEDICATED PRODUCT CATEGORIES
4.1 Plain-text brand names may be used within:
4.1.1 website navigation menus;
4.1.2 dedicated product-category pages;
4.1.3 search filters;
4.1.4 product listings;
4.1.5 product descriptions; and
4.1.6 event information.
4.2 These references are used to help visitors locate genuine products associated with the relevant trading card game.
4.3 Third-party brand names will not knowingly be used to promote unrelated products or to create a misleading impression of commercial affiliation.
4.4 During the pre-launch period, products displayed within a category may be unavailable to order.
4.5 The appearance of a product on the website does not confirm that Mythic Rift has:
4.5.1 received the product;
4.5.2 received a distributor allocation;
4.5.3 established an official publisher relationship;
4.5.4 obtained authorised-retailer status; or
4.5.5 received permission to use unrelated franchise artwork.
5. ORIGINAL CATEGORY ARTWORK
5.1 Mythic Rift uses original, AI-assisted thematic artwork to create a distinctive atmosphere for its website categories.
5.2 The category artwork is created under human direction using original concepts.
5.3 The category artwork is not intended to reproduce protected:
5.3.1 characters;
5.3.2 creatures;
5.3.3 costumes;
5.3.4 ships;
5.3.5 cards;
5.3.6 locations;
5.3.7 logos;
5.3.8 symbols;
5.3.9 weapons; or
5.3.10 other franchise-specific elements.
5.4 Current original category concepts include:
5.4.1 a fantasy traveller and original companions overlooking a valley for the Pokémon product category;
5.4.2 an original purple, teal and gold pirate galleon with a coral-orange octopus figurehead for the One Piece Card Game category;
5.4.3 an original dragon consuming streams of fire, water, earth and air for the Magic: The Gathering category;
5.4.4 three original cosmic sovereigns appearing within an independent summoning arena for the Yu-Gi-Oh! category; and
5.4.5 an original multiverse gallery containing a crystalline dimensional portal for the Other TCGs category.
5.5 The concepts described at clause 5.4 are independent atmospheric backgrounds.
5.6 The category artwork is not official artwork and should not be interpreted as representing the characters, creatures, ships, locations or fictional worlds belonging to the respective rights holders.
5.7 Mythic Rift takes reasonable steps to avoid including:
5.7.1 recognisable franchise characters;
5.7.2 signature costumes;
5.7.3 protected logos;
5.7.4 copied card frames;
5.7.5 protected symbols;
5.7.6 copied compositions; and
5.7.7 designs likely to be mistaken for official artwork.
5.8 To the extent that intellectual-property rights subsist in Mythic Rift’s original artwork, branding, written content and website design, those rights are reserved by Mythic Rift Ltd.
6. OFFICIAL AND PRODUCT IMAGES
6.1 Official product images, packaging images and promotional materials will only be used where they have been:
6.1.1 supplied by a manufacturer, publisher, authorised distributor or licensor;
6.1.2 approved by the relevant rights holder;
6.1.3 made available under terms permitting retailer use;
6.1.4 licensed to Mythic Rift for the relevant purpose; or
6.1.5 photographed directly by Mythic Rift using genuine products lawfully obtained for resale.
6.2 The appearance of third-party intellectual property on genuine product packaging does not transfer ownership of those rights to Mythic Rift.
6.3 Mythic Rift will not knowingly use unofficial character artwork, copied promotional imagery or fan-created material to market its products without appropriate permission.
7. GENUINE PRODUCTS AND RESALE
7.1 Mythic Rift intends to sell genuine products obtained from:
7.1.1 authorised distributors;
7.1.2 established suppliers;
7.1.3 reputable wholesalers; and
7.1.4 other legitimate sources.
7.2 The lawful resale of a genuine product does not mean that Mythic Rift owns, controls or has received a general licence to use the intellectual property associated with that product.
7.3 Products will not be described as officially allocated, authorised, licensed or distributor-supplied unless that description is accurate and can be supported.
7.4 Mythic Rift will take reasonable steps to verify the authenticity and legitimate provenance of products offered for sale.
8. ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE
8.1 Some original website artwork may be created or refined using generative artificial-intelligence tools under Mythic Rift’s direction.
8.2 Artificial-intelligence assistance is not used as justification for copying protected characters, artwork, designs or other third-party material.
8.3 Mythic Rift does not claim that artificial-intelligence generation removes, replaces or overrides existing copyright, trademark or design rights.
8.4 Where appropriate, generated material is reviewed and revised to reduce the risk of including recognisable protected elements.
8.5 Mythic Rift may remove, replace or revise generated artwork where:
8.5.1 it is found to resemble protected material;
8.5.2 a reasonable intellectual-property concern is raised;
8.5.3 a rights holder requests an investigation; or
8.5.4 continued use could create a misleading impression of official affiliation.
9. NO LICENCE GRANTED
9.1 Nothing on the Mythic Rift website grants visitors permission to reproduce, distribute, sell, modify or commercially exploit third-party:
9.1.1 trademarks;
9.1.2 product images;
9.1.3 card artwork;
9.1.4 characters;
9.1.5 franchise material; or
9.1.6 other protected content.
9.2 Nothing on the Mythic Rift website grants visitors permission to reproduce, distribute, sell, modify or commercially exploit Mythic Rift:
9.2.1 branding;
9.2.2 original artwork;
9.2.3 written content;
9.2.4 photography; or
9.2.5 website design.
9.3 Nothing in this Policy should be interpreted as Mythic Rift claiming an official relationship, licence, endorsement or approval that has not been expressly granted.
10. INTELLECTUAL-PROPERTY CONCERNS
10.1 Mythic Rift respects the rights of publishers, artists, designers, photographers, licensors and other intellectual-property owners.
10.2 A person who believes that material displayed by Mythic Rift infringes their rights should contact Mythic Rift through the website.
10.3 A report should include:
10.3.1 the reporting person’s name and contact details;
10.3.2 the identity of the rights holder represented;
10.3.3 identification of the protected work, design or trademark;
10.3.4 the exact webpage or material concerned;
10.3.5 an explanation of the alleged infringement; and
10.3.6 evidence that the reporting person owns the relevant rights or is authorised to act for the rights holder.
10.4 Mythic Rift will review properly supported reports promptly.
10.5 Mythic Rift may temporarily restrict or remove material while a concern is investigated.
10.6 Where a concern is substantiated, Mythic Rift may:
10.6.1 permanently remove the material;
10.6.2 replace the material;
10.6.3 amend the relevant content;
10.6.4 seek permission or a licence; or
10.6.5 take another reasonable corrective action.
11. FUTURE STORE AND ORGANISED PLAY
11.1 Mythic Rift is working towards opening a physical store in the Cambridgeshire area.
11.2 Late 2027 is Mythic Rift’s current target for the planned physical store and does not constitute a guaranteed opening date.
11.3 The planned store is intended to support:
11.3.1 organised play;
11.3.2 tournaments;
11.3.3 trading events;
11.3.4 product launches;
11.3.5 community activities; and
11.3.6 other trading card game events.
11.4 Mythic Rift will not describe an event as officially sanctioned, licensed or publisher-supported unless the relevant approval has been obtained.
11.5 This Policy will apply to promotional material, displays and events associated with the future physical store.
12. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
12.1 Mythic Rift may update this Policy when its:
12.1.1 product range changes;
12.1.2 supplier or distributor relationships change;
12.1.3 website content changes;
12.1.4 organised-play activities develop;
12.1.5 physical-store plans develop; or
12.1.6 legal obligations change.
12.2 The effective date displayed at the beginning of this Policy will be updated when material changes are made.
12.3 This Policy is issued by:
12.3.1 Mythic Rift Ltd; and
12.3.2 United Kingdom.
